Summary

Plug-ins are software modules that serve two purposes in InDesign: incorporating core features into the application and adding special functions. Plug-ins are stored in the Plug-Ins folder within the InDesign application folder. Many established developers of QuarkXPress XTensions and Photoshop plug-ins have developed InDesign plug-ins to provide additional features such as table editing and imposition . When purchasing and using plug-ins, consider whether other users of your workgroup and your service bureau will need the plug-in as well. Finally, you can manage which plug-ins are in use through the Configure Plug-Ins dialog box.
