Tracking the Documentation

Summary

When writing any of the documentation discussed, remember to focus your efforts on what is:

  • Practical

  • Practicable

  • Tied to the CMMI

  • Tied to SCAMPI results

Make sure the people writing the procedures understand that they will also have to follow them. One of my client organizations calls this "Eat your own dog food." It is easy to write bad procedures if you think they will not pertain to you.
