Process improvement and change go hand-in-hand. You cannot have one without the other. Everyone must change, including technicians, practitioners , management, quality assurance, engineers , process improvement personnel, and even users and customers. Change is painful. If the pain of how you currently do your job is not high enough, then you probably will not change the way you do your job.
We do not usually tell jokes, and most people do not understand our jokes, but we are reminded of one. It is the old joke about changing light bulbs . Question: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: One. But the light bulb has to really want to change. The same goes for process improvement.
