Painter Modifier

This module was also written by Peter Watje. It is mainly intended to model embossings but has a range of other interesting uses.

• Copy the files in the \Plugins\Paint Modifier\ folder on the companion CD-ROM to the \3dsmax4\Plugins\ folder and restart 3ds max.

• Create a sufficiently large plane (20×20, for example).

• Apply the Paint Modifier by selecting it from the modifier list and clicking the Paint button. Proceed with your drawing (Fig. 21.5)!

Besides embossing and engraving, you can also create surface curves, draw with objects, smoothen them out, etc. The module supports graphical plotters. Try it out!
