Ensure That the Requirements Are Delivered and Tested

During Transition, the last of the four lifecycle phases of the RUP, you transition the product to the user in the target environment. One of the steps involved in the deployment is acceptance testing, to verify that the software is ready and can be used by the users to perform those functions and tasks the software was built for. Product acceptance testing often involves more than execution of the software for readiness; it also involves all product artifacts delivered to the customer(s), such as training, documentation, and packaging.

Acceptance testing is the responsibility of the tester, but the analyst needs to be actively involved in the process to ensure that the user requirements are satisfied and properly tested.
