VisualAge for Java with the R/3 System
Companies that use SAP R/3 can use VisualAge for Java to become e-businesses. VisualAge for Java is the first Java integrated development environment to receive BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface) validation from SAP. VisualAge for Java fully supports the BAPI standard for Java, and can create business applications that access and integrate SAP R/3 into new, Web-based applications. For example, companies that use R/3 for sales orders can use Java applets to extend sales to the Internet. In this case, Java applets connect to R/3 and generate a sales order object that can be processed just like a normal sales order in R/3.
