Summary

Team-Fly

There are many pieces to the SAP Automation toolkit, including tools that allow you to work in a variety of environments and languages. This chapter gave you an overall feel for what is available and what is relevant to Java. The two general types of SAP interfaces are the GUI and RFC modules. The specific areas that are important to the Java programmer are the GUI Component, the Java Class library, the Repository Services, and the SAP Assistant. Some of the other areas can be used with Java as well, but these are the most direct and efficient, and are best for an introduction to integrating Java with SAP. After you understand the Java Class library, integrating with the Logon control will not be difficult. This chapter concluded with an overview of how all these components work together.
