6.3 Summary

Monitors autonomously observe the values of MBean's attributes. They help automate an essential aspect of every management application. This chapter has explored the features and usage patterns common to all the standard JMX monitors. We have also looked at each of the separate types of monitors in detail. Although they are essential, monitors aren't the only service component that JMX offers. In the next chapter we'll examine the others ”the services that JMX provides to handle simple scheduling tasks , dynamic configuration of the MBeanServer, and management of inter-MBean relationships.
