JMX in Products

JMX has been implemented with value-added function and sold as a separate product. JMX has also been embedded in numerous products to provide manageability infrastructure. This appendix gives an overview of the known products supporting JMX at the time of this writing. The appendix is divided into three sections: JMX Agent Implementations , JMX Managers, and JMX-Enabled Products. There is no doubt that there are products that we have missed; this is not intended to be an exhaustive listing.

One note on terminology: Vendors who implement the JMX agent specification must purchase and pass the Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK) ^[1] in order to claim JMX compliance. The TCK must be purchased from Sun, and the price can be substantial. JMX implementations that have not passed the TCK are called JMX compatible. We have noted which implementations are compliant. If nothing explicit is stated, you can assume that the products are compatible.
