You can copy the formatting from one cell or a block of cells to other cells by using the Format Painter. Select the cell that contains the formatting you want to copy, and click the Format Painter button (in the Standard toolbar). Drag your pointer (which now has a paintbrush icon next to it) over the cells you want to paint. Format Painter applies the formatting!
Tip
To paint the format in multiple locations, double-click the Format Painter button to lock it in the "on" position. Then paint away. When you're finished, click the Format Painter button again to turn it off.
