Almost all the features under the Send option of the Client Options dialog box mirror 32-bit Windows client options. Most of the features should not be administered, unless you have some special business reason that requires you to administer or lock down a feature of the GroupWise client. Rather than explaining all of these GroupWise client-based features, this section discusses the client options under Send that are not available to the Windows client, or that are particularly noteworthy. Allow Use of Reply to All in RulesThis option is unchecked by default. This is a good default that will cut down on vacation rules users might make that reply to all recipients of a message. Allow Use of Internet Mail TrackingInternet mail tracking is a feature that will work if your GWIA has Delivery Status Notification enabled. The Delivery Status Notification feature is discussed further in Chapter 10, "Installing and Configuring the GroupWise Internet Agent." If you have not enabled this feature on the GWIA, you might as well not tease users with a feature that will not work. Wildcard AddressingWildcard addressing can allow users to send a message to a lot of other users. Fortunately, there is no dialog box in the GroupWise client that prompts or coaches users to use wildcard addressing. Generally this is a feature you will want to disable company-wide, and then enable for a few select people. For more information on how to use wildcard addressing, use the Help feature in the GroupWise client, and then read up on how to send a message with a wildcard address. Wildcard addressing can be configured to enable users to send to the following:
Allow Reply Rules to LoopStarting with GroupWise 6.0x, there is some rule loop detection intelligence in the GroupWise POA that was designed to not allow reply rules to loop. Sometimes, though, the rule loop detection intelligence goes too far, and the result is that your users might complain that a rule fires off only once, and then never works beyond that. If you enable the Allow Reply Rules to Loop feature, your users should no longer experience this problem. Global SignatureThis feature is new to GroupWise 7. If a Global Signature has been created under GroupWise System Operations, the signature can be chosen from this drop-down dialog. A Global Signature isn't necessarily "global" because it can be enabled in the same granular manner as the other features available in Client Options. Conceal SubjectThis feature allows an administrator to indicate that the subject of messages should be concealed. This feature would generally be implemented on a limited basis, for special-purpose mailboxes. Require Password to Complete Routed ItemWhen a user creates a message into a routing slip and recipients of the routing slip mark the slip as completed, the recipient will be prompted to enter the same password that was used to authenticate to GroupWise. Secure Item OptionsUsing S/MIME is explained in detail in Chapter 30, "Creating a Secure Messaging Solution." Disk Space MgmtWith this feature, you can specify just how much disk space users' mailboxes can use, as well as the largest message that users can send. Following are the settings you can set from the Disk Space Mgmt window:
