Checking Whether Internet Addressing Is Enabled

Enabling Internet addressing is covered in more detail in Chapter 16. For this chapter we just need to check whether it is indeed enabled. Following are the steps for checking whether native Internet addressing is indeed enabled:

1.

Choose Tools, GroupWise System Operations, Internet Addressing. The window shown in Figure 34.1 appears.

Figure 34.1. The Internet Addressing dialog box showing the defined Internet domains for this system. Because at least one Internet domain is created, and a default GWIA is selected, native Internet addressing is indeed enabled

Because at least one Internet domain is created and a default GWIA is selected, you know that native Internet addressing is enabled. In this same window you can check to see what the default Internet addressing format is. Most organizations find that userid@Internet domain name works best, as discussed in more detail in Chapter 16.

2.

Close the Internet Addressing dialog by clicking OK.

Now that we've checked that Internet addressing is indeed enabled, we're ready to make GWMTP communication work.
