Testing and Confirming LDAP Authentication

After you've configured everything, the easiest way to test the LDAP authentication is to do the following:

  1. Create a test user on the CORPPO post office who has LDAP authentication enabled.

  2. Go to the GroupWise Account property page for this user.

  3. Click the Change GroupWise Password button. Change the password to something like 123.

  4. Now change the user's eDirectory password on the RestrictionsPassword Restrictions property page. Make the password abc.

  5. Now try to log into GroupWise as the user. When asked for the password, type abc. If you are allowed in using the eDirectory password, you know that LDAP authentication is working. If you cannot log in, you must troubleshoot the issue. See the next section for LDAP authentication troubleshooting tips.

Now you have configured the basics of an LDAP authentication infrastructure for a GroupWise post office.
