You moved a user and everything seems to be quiet on the POAs. You might now be asking, "Did everything get moved?" The User Move Status utility is one of the best ways to assess the status of a user move. Here's how you assess whether a user move is successful. Follow these steps to use the User Move Status utility:
The User Move Status utility shows several status reports for a standard successful move. We've listed most of them here, in chronological order: Destination domain updated Destination post office updated Primary domain updated Source domain updated Source post office updated Build item request Fixing proxy lists Retrieve mailbox items Build item list Mailbox inventory list received Mailbox inventory transfer completed Send item request Completed retrieving items Purge mailbox request received The POAs for the source and destination post offices actually create these statuses at different stages during a user move. These statuses are sent as administrative messages. These administrative messages are sent up from the GroupWise POAs to the MTAs to commit to the GroupWise WPDOMAIN.DBs. You can read these statuses through ConsoleOne via the User Move Status utility. If your user move happens quickly, it might be difficult to catch each of these statuses. The final status of Move Completed (assuming that the move was successful) will always remain until you actually remove the status via the Clear Status option from the User Move Status utility. We strongly recommend that you do click the Clear Status button. If you do not, and then later need to move the user again, you might have difficulty doing so. |
