Launching a Slide Show

One of the things that is most impressive about the slide show feature in Media Center is how easy it is to useparticularly with the remote control. Simply do this:

  1. Select the folder containing the images you want to view, and press OK.

  2. Now press Play.

Media Center does the rest. What makes the slide show display so compelling is that Media Center doesn't just flash static images, one after another. One image may pan languidly from right to left, and the next one may slowly zoom into the center of the photo, and so on. The result is subtle, yet mesmerizing. The pictures actually seem to come alive , right out of the computer screen. This simple animation is done so skillfully that it instantly elevates even the most mundane snapshots so that they appear fascinating and strikingly professional.

Launching a Slide Show with Your Keyboard or Mouse

The procedure for launching a slide show is slightly different with your mouse. From the thumbnail view, you must click on a picture and display it in full-screen mode before you can launch the slide show. Then just click on the triangular play icon in the onscreen transport controls to launch the slide show. Use the square stop icon in the transport controls to end the slide show.

To launch and control a slide show using your keyboard, refer to the My Pictures related keyboard shortcuts listed in Table 18.1.
