Additional Slide Show Options

Among the other ways to customize your slide shows using the Settings menu in My Pictures are the following options:

  • Show Song Information During Slide Show ” Choose between Always displaying and Never displaying song specifics, or choose to show them only at the beginning and end of each song.

  • Slide Show Background Color ” The default choice is black, but you can also select white, or any of nine shades of gray.

The Absolute Minimum

For many of us, the idea of "watching a slide show" still conjures up images of unpacking the old carousel projector, unfurling the big white screen at one end of a darkened room, and then being subjected to hours of the photographer's droning monologue while the slides click by with a rhythmic "ka-shoonk, ka-shoonk." The very thought of it is enough to make the eyes glaze over and chill the heart with a sense of impending doom.

Media Center changes that by taking your digital images and allowing you to instantly create professional-looking results that can resemble anything from an award-winning PBS documentary to a fast-paced montage set to the latest hip-hop tune. Here are some of the things you'll need to remember, as you get your slide show ready for "primetime" viewing:

  • Selecting pictures and viewing them individually is a snap, whether you use the remote control, mouse, or keyboard.

  • My Pictures give you several ways to sort and organize your image collection.

  • You can launch a slide show instantly by pressing the Play button on the remote control. The My Pictures default slide show options make the most of your photos with minimum effort on your part. Add some background music for an even more entertaining display.

  • You can customize your slide show even further by using the Settings menu to change the order, duration, transition style, background color, and more.
