Windows Me Start-Up Process

Windows Me is a member of the Windows 9.x family and as such uses the exact same start-up process, with the notable exclusion of AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. Windows Me finally did away with legacy support for these files. In previous iterations of Windows 9.x, Windows was actually using its own 32-bit versions instead of these files; they were only used for backward compatibility. Please refer to Chapter 11 on Windows 9.x for a full description of the start-up process.
