Summary

This chapter provided a brief description of Windows NT/2000/XP registries, as well as an overview of the registry's history, its role, and its capabilities. We've also discussed the place of the registry in Windows NT/2000/XP architecture. Most registry aspects covered in this chapter will be discussed in greater detail later in this book.
