Big Endian Format

a method of representing the value when the highest bit ("big end") appears first.

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)

a STOP error or kernel-mode error. The state when Windows NT/2000 can't correct the hardware problem, inconsistent data, or other errors. The system stops to prevent further corruption of data.

Boot partition

the partition used for starting up the operating system. Both primary (active) partitions and logical drives on extended partitions can be used as boot partitions.

Boot.ini

the file necessary to boot Windows NT/2000/XP. Contains options that allow you to select the operating system and its boot options.
