Duplicating Layers

If you created a layer just the way you want it and you need another similar layer, then you can duplicate the existing layer and modify the new one rather than re-creating the layer.

NOTE

You can also make a selected area into its own layer by clicking on Selections and choosing Promote Selection to Layer.
