Up to this point, you've learned how to use the Paint Shop Pro tools to create simple objects. The next level of graphics is called layering. You have the option of creating a layer for each object you create in Paint Shop Pro.
Layering is like putting each portion of your graphics image on a separate transparent sheet of paper. You can then shuffle the order of the layers (sheets). Layering makes it much easier to edit or move a particular portion of the image. As you edit one portion of the image, you won't disturb the other portions. If you are making composite images, you'll find layers particularly helpful. In this chapter, you'll learn how to
Create, duplicate, and delete layers
View and hide layers
Change layer opacity
Merge layers
Rename layers
