There are a number of different types of images, ranging from photographs to drawn art images, to text that takes on artistic shapes . Excel art is considered an object which means that you can easily move it, resize it, or modify it.

Inserting Clip Art

Excel comes with a wide variety of clip art. Clip art is simply a collection of computer pictures or graphics that are ready to use. You just select an appropriate picture and insert it in your worksheet.

You will learn in a later section how to move, resize, and adjust any image you insert into your worksheet.

Inserting Saved Images

You can easily insert your own artwork into an Excel worksheet, whether it's a photograph, scanned image, logo, or other type of artwork.

Inserting Images from Your Camera

Although you will probably want to use the Windows XP Camera and Scanner Wizard or other software to download a batch of images from your digital camera, you can download images directly from your camera into your Microsoft Excel worksheet. So go ahead, take those pictures of your inventory items and insert them directly into your worksheet.

NOTE

Your camera must be installed and properly configured with Windows XP.

The images stored on your camera will appear as thumbnails.

NOTE

If you want to insert multiple images, hold down the Ctrl key and select the additional images.
