Summary

Installation of SQL Server is generally quite easy. Ensure that you are using an enterprise compatible collation and that you have chosen appropriate service accounts. Remember that SQL is secure by default. This means that you will have to use the Surface Area Configuration tool to enable many of the things you will need for your server, such as database mail and remote connections. If you will be upgrading, there is some good advice coming up in Chapter 3.
