It is crucial for all businesses utilizing e-commerce technologies to devise and implement effective security measures that will provide the highest level of security to their e-commerce resources. In many cases, the costs of preventing security problems are much less expensive than the costs of recovering after the firm has been victimized. This requires careful assessment and planning of all critical factors related the firm’s e-commerce security. Regrettably, in the midst of maintaining the existing e-commerce security system, sometimes managers overlook the need to improve important aspects of security programs or they mistakenly believe that “it won’t happen to us.” The manager’s oversight can allow the firm’s system to become vulnerable to misuse and attacks.
