Like most Apple applications, GarageBand 2 has a host (okay, a bunch) of keyboard shortcuts and there's no sense in memorizing them all, because you won't use them all (some you won't even want to useever), but there are a few essential shortcuts you'll need to start using now, before you pull your hair out. They include: (1) Pressing the Spacebar on your keyboard to start/stop your song. (2) Pressing the letter Z to jump back to the beginning of your song. (3) To delete the current track, press Command-Delete. (4) You can mute the current track by pressing the letter M. (5) Isolate just the current track (which mutes all the others) by pressing the letter S. (6) Press the letter C to turn cycling (looping of your song) on/off. (7) Press Command-U to turn the built-in Metronome on/off. (8) Command-L shows/hides the Loop Browser. (9) Start/Stop recording by pressing the letter R. And last but not least: (10) Press Command-D to duplicate any track. Learn those 10, and it will make your GarageBand life much easier. Without cycle (looping) With cycle (looping) |
