iMovie HD: GETTING MORE AUDIO TRACKS

In the Timeline, there are three tracks where audio can go. The top Timeline where the video clips are located also supports any audio from your digital camcorder's microphone that was captured when you shot your clips. The second track is usually used for sound effects or a narrator track. The third is usually used for background music. So you'd think you'd be limited to three tracks; but actually, iMovie HD lets you continue to import and lay multiple audio tracks right over one another. For example, if you have a music score on the bottom track and you import a sound effect, you'll notice that its little bar icon appears right on top of your score track's icon. It also plays right over itnot knocking it outbut playing right along with it. This enables you to use more than just the three tracks it appears you're limited to.
