TextEdit: FONT CONTROL CENTRAL

TextEdit gives you surprisingly robust control over your font formatting. Press Command-T to bring up the Font panel. You can choose the font Family, Typeface style (bold, italic, etc.), and point Size, and then you can see your choice in a large preview at the top of the Font panel (just choose Show Preview from the palette's Actions button, in the bottom left-hand corner of the panel). Just under the preview is a toolbar where you'll find everything from controls for colorizing your text to adding drop shadows.
