Address Book: GETTING SMART ABOUT GROUPING

Let's say you're the coach of your kid's soccer team, and you have all the parents' numbers in your Address Book in case you have to call them and cancel a game because of rain or extreme apathy. Of course, you could create a Group of just the parents' names, and then drag their addresses into this Group one by one, or you can create a Smart Group that will not only do it for you, but every time you add another kid to the team, you can have his parents' contact info jump right into that Group automatically. Here's how it's done: Hold the Option key and click on the little plus (+) sign in the bottom-left corner of the Address Book window (this is the shortcut for creating a Smart Group). A dialog will appear from the top of the Address Book, where you can choose who will make up your Smart Group. In the topmost field that appears, give your Group a name, then in the next field down, type "Soccer" and every card that has the word "Soccer" in it will appear in that Group. Now when you add any card with the word "Soccer" in it, it will automatically be added to your Smart Group.
