SHUTTING DOWN WITHOUT THE WARNING

When you choose Shut Down from the Apple menu, a dialog appears asking if you really want to shut down. Yes, it's annoying. To make the bad dialog go away, just hold the Option key before you choose Shut Down, and it will just shut down (without insulting your intelligence by asking you if what you chose is really what you want to do).
