If there's one thing that messes with an application's (or a system's) head, it's font conflicts (duplicate copies of the same fonts installed on your hard drive). Thankfully, Font Book kicks this problem in the butt. If Font Book detects a duplicate font, it puts a little bullet point in front of the font's name. Then, it's up to you to choose which version you really want to keep open (you shouldn't have both open). Click on the version you want, then go under Font Book's Edit menu and choose Resolve Duplicates, and it will automatically turn off the duplicate, leaving you free and clear to enjoy a single-font family life. |
