USING YOUR PHOTOS AS DESKTOP PATTERNS

You're not stuck using Apple's default sets of desktop backgrounds, because now you can use any photo in your hard disk as a desktop pattern. Just Control-click anywhere on your desktop background and choose Change Desktop Background from the contextual menu that appears. In the Desktop preferences panel, near the bottom of the left column (where all the default sets of photos are), click on iPhoto Library folder (or click Choose Folder to navigate to a folder of images). The photos in your iPhoto Library (or folder) will now appear in the main window, and you can click on any one to instantly become your desktop background.
