KEEPING YOUR PRIVATE DATA PRIVATE

If you have sensitive information on your computer, you're probably most vulnerable to "peekers" when your computer is up and running (like at the office), but if you step away for a moment to grab a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino (or maybe you just go to the bathroom. Either way, for a few minutes it's "open season" for anyone with a curious mind). If that's a concern, you can keep those prying eyes away by going under the Apple menu, choosing System Preferences, and clicking on the Security icon. When the FileVault preference pane appears, turn on the checkbox for Require Password to Wake This Computer from Sleep or Screen Saver. Of course, before you do this, make darn sure you know your password.
