SHERLOCK: DASHBOARD'S UGLY COUSINIf for some reason you don't like Dashboard (hey, I've heard of a few people who, for whatever reason [they're just plain cranky] don't like it), you can get most of Dashboard's built-in functionality from a surprising place. Believe it or not, a lot of the built-in Internet-activated features are available in Sherlock (it's in your Applications folder). When you open it, you'll notice that Sherlock does a lot of the same things that some of the most popular Dashboard widgets do, like tracking your flights, looking up things in Yellow Pages online, translating foreign languages, plus it's got a dictionary and thesaurus, and it even tracks your stocks. |
