Chapter Review

VxVM is a huge product, and as such, we haven't had the opportunity to explore every avenue of its capabilities. We have tried to compare it to LVM, a technology that HP-UX administrators have been familiar with for some years now. VxVM can now be seen to measure up to LVM in every way; we can even provide rootability on a PA-RISC platform. It is a hugely capable product, and I'm amazed at some of the tasks it can perform while users are doing the best to melt our disk drives with horrendous database queries and generating fantastically useful reports . We have a challenge to try to provide a High Availability and High Performance solution for our users. We have looked at many features that can help us with this challenge. Good luck.
