Third-Party Programs

This CD also contains several third-party programs and demos from leading industry companies. These programs have been carefully selected to help you strengthen your professional skills in Macromedia's Flash. Trial software:

• Macromedia Flash 5. This is the standard for creating high-impact interactive vector-based Web sites. Directory: Macromedia/Flash5/.

• Macromedia FreeHand 10. Freehand 10 is the perfect complement to Flash 5. Use it to storyboard or create art for your Flash movie.

• Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev 4. Using Dreamweaver Ultradev 4 in conjunction with Flash enables you to quickly develop database-driven applications. You can also add the Flash Deployment Kit as a Dreamweaver behavior to help you quickly add robust Flash detection to your HTML pages.

• Macromedia Generator 2.0. Generator works with the Flash authoring environment to enable you to create on-the-fly graphics and Flash movies.

• SWfX and Swish. These are standalone packages. SWfX and Swish are text-animation tools for use in conjunction with Flash. Depending on the type of animation created, the SWF files that these create can either be imported directly into Flash or loaded as external movies.

• Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 3 and Syntrillium Cool Edit Pro. Sound is half the fun. These two packages are in widespread use and are easy and effective to use. We use both at Fig Leaf.

• Loopfrog. Here you'll get royalty-free sound files.
