In Chapter 8 you learned to use Illustrator s text editing tools, and in Chapter 9 you learned to apply pretty intense levels of formatting to text. But the real fun comes next , when you use Illustrator to control the flow of type around objects, to fill objects with text, and to create text that runs vertically or along the path of an object.
Flowing text around objects allows detailed control over layout for brochures , white papers, print ads, and other text-heavy illustrations. Filling an object with text can be an effective technique for combining media and message, as illustrated in Figure 10-1.
In this chapter, you ll also learn to flow vertical text along a path for effect, as shown in Figure 10-2 .
