As in other industries, the ability to deploy and manage applications from a central location, to access applications from any type of connection, to ensure rapid and efficient performance, and to maintain security have proven to be common denominators for success in the health care industry. The three case studies in this section demonstrate different ways in which the thin-client/server model has been implemented in this field.
