9.8 Further Reading

The problems presented in this chapter are either classic problems of concurrency (the readers/writers and first-in/first-out binary semaphore problems) or specific to situations covered in this text (the gas station simulation and the animator). The classic problems can be found in any number of books (see, for example, [HAR98]). Adapters as covered in this chapter are different from adapters as implemented in the Java AWT. The adapters given here are covered in [SUN96] or most books on Java Beans, such as that by Englander [ENG97].
