The definitive source for information on RMI is on the Sun Microsystems Web site [SUN02e]. A number of good books can complement this site, such as Pitt et al. [PIT01]; also, Flanagan et al. [FLA990] and Ayers et al. [AYE99] have good sections on RMI programming. Readers might also be interested in CORBA, a more universal and industrial-strength distributed programming environment. Information on CORBA can be found at [OBJ02], or a good book is that by Vogel and Duddy [VOG97].
