This chapter explored the first step in populating the SMS database and installing SMS clients—discovering resources. We looked at a variety of discovery methods that can be used to carry out the discovery process. Some of these discovery methods are paired with corresponding client installation methods—for example, each logon discovery method has a corresponding client installation method. In Chapter 8, we'll examine the various client installation methods available to the SMS administrator.
