Part V covers two main areas of discussion: support for SMS 1.2 and support for Windows 2000. Chapter 19 covers the topic of migration from SMS 1.2 to SMS 2.0. In addition to describing the migration process, this chapter also identifies planning considerations, discusses post-migration issues, and describes client handling and upgrading as well as supporting mixed SMS 1.2 and 2.0 environments. Chapter 20 then takes a look at how SMS 2.0 features compare to similar features in Windows 2000. We'll see how SMS 2.0 can be used to ready a network for Windows 2000 and explore some Windows 2000 deployment options using SMS 2.0. We'll discuss how the product compliance database feature of SMS 2.0 can be used to assist you in developing a Windows 2000 upgrades strategy. And we'll take a look at future plans for SMS 2.0 in the Windows 2000 environment.
