Well, you've created a masterpiece and now it's time to output your sequence. Avid Xpress Pro gives you several options when it comes to outputting your work. In the past, the only option in an edit suite was to have a finished edit master. The cherished edited master tape was sent to duplication where dupes were made and then hopefully filed in a library. The inherited danger was that the edited master could be misplaced. What if it was destroyed during mass duplication? Because there was only one edited master, editors, producers , duplication techs, and so on, had to be very careful with it. This is certainly true to some degree today, but because post-production work is performed on a computer, you can now produce several edited masters. Editors can even keep an edited master for themselves . How great is this when it comes time to create your demo reel?

In today's edit suites, finished sequences might never even make it to tape. You can also output to DVDs or export the files. Perhaps a sequence you edited with Avid Xpress Pro is destined for the Internet or a web page. The outputting options certainly have changed in a few short years .
