Managing your media is crucial when working on Avid Xpress Pro. Thankfully, the software gives you all the tools you'll ever need to display and delete media, as well as change a clip's resolution. Understanding how these tools work will only increase your productivity.

In Text view, you can sort a bin's column.
You can create your own custom column.
Sifting allows you display clips that meet a certain criteria.
The Modify command can change information related to a clip.
Unlinking a clip breaks the connection between the media file and the master clip.
Relinking a clip reestablishes the link between a master clip and its media file.
Consolidating not only copies the clip, but also makes a duplicated media file.
Consolidating sub-clips is a great way to free up space on your hard drive.
Avid Xpress Pro can play multiple resolutions in the same sequence but you'll need to transcode the sequence first.
The Media tool can display all the items associated with a project.
Use the Media tool to delete files from your system.
If your sequence needs to recaptured to a higher resolution, use the Decompose command to create clips prior to recapturing.
Avid Xpress Pro can change a title's resolution in a sequence by using the Re-create Title Media option.
