To view your settings, highlight the Project window and click on the Settings tab. A list of all the settings will appear. The Settings window displays the name of the setting, a column for a description, and the type of the setting (see Figure 12.1).
Notice as you scroll through the settings, each is designated a project setting, a user setting, or a site setting. If you do not see the type of settings displayed, resize your Project window. To add a description or title to a column, click next to the name and type the information you want (see Figure 12.2).
To open a setting, double-click on the setting's name. Depending on which view you're in, you might see several settings with duplicated names . For example, in Figure 12.3, there are several interface settings.
To display only the current settings, click on the Fast Menu in the Project window and choose Active Settings (see Figure 12.4). This will display all settings that are currently active. Active settings have check marks next to them.
To duplicate a setting, in order to have two settings that you can switch between, select the setting and choose Duplicate from the Edit menu. The more you work on Avid Xpress Pro, you'll find reasons why you'll want to duplicate a setting. A good example is the keyboard; you might have one keyboard set up for capturing and another keyboard for editing. It's also handy to duplicate a setting prior to making any changes; this way, you always have the original setting to go back to.
