Getting Camera Information

Often, to capture a moment, you'll take a photo really fast, with no time to set up, and, to your amazement, it's a masterpiece! Or you set up slowly and methodically, with the perfect lighting and framing, and the photo is a disaster. What happened? Now you can review your camera settings for a particular photo and perhaps understand why it's so perfect or so disappointing.

Get the Information

In Windows Photo Gallery, click the photo to select it.

Click the File button, and choose Properties from the drop-down menu (or press Alt+Enter) to display the Properties dialog box.

On the Details tab of the Properties dialog box, view the settings that you used.

Click OK when you've finished.

Tip

You'll usually find that not all of the properties on the Details tab are completed. For those properties, you complete the field by pointing to the empty area where the information should be, and then, if a text box appears, you can enter the information.
