Chapter 5: Securing an IIS Application
Overview
In this chapter, you're going to build a complete IIS application, not just a single page. This is an interactive chapter. To get the most out of this chapter, you should start Visual Basic and follow along step by step. This interactive process will let me explain procedures while you do them, which will help both of us. You'll see how to add HTML templates and use WebClass replacement tags.
The application you're going to build is a template for a site secured by a sign-on and password. To secure a site, you need to make sure that every person entering the site has successfully signed on. You need to keep valid sign-ons somewhere—a database is the best place, but for small sites like this one, a file works just as well.
