Introduction

In this chapter, well introduce the GNU/Linux process model. Well define elements of a process, how processes communicate with each other, and how to control and monitor them. First, well do a quick review of fundamental APIs and then follow up with a more detailed review, complete with sample applications that illustrate each technique.
