Scripting Language Alternatives

Bash is one option of scripting, but GNU/Linux offers a number of shells and scripting language alternatives. In addition to bash, GNU/Linux offers csh/tcsh (Berkeley C-shell), ksh (the Korn shell), zsh (Z-shell), and others. For higher-level scripting, there are numerous languages, such as Python, Ruby, Perl, Tcl, Scsh, and others. So many languages, so little time.
