The Result of AI

Research in AI has resulted in many commonplace technologies that we now take for granted. Recall that in the early 1960s, research into miniaturization for the Apollo space program resulted in the development of integrated circuits that play such a crucial role in technology today. AI has yielded similar benefits such as voice recognition and optical character recognition.

Many commercial products today include AI technologies. Video cameras include fuzzy logic firmware that provides the ability to steady the image from a mobile operator. Fuzzy logic has also found its way into dishwashers and other devices. No mention is made of these technologies because people want products that work, but they don't really care how they work. There may also be the component of fear that some buyers may experience. Noting that a product includes an AI technology may simply not sit well with some consumers.
