In this chapter, we've looked at the field of intelligent agents . Intelligent agents are an interesting subfield of AI, as they exist to give applications some form of intelligence. After looking at the attributes commonly found in software agents, we looked at a common taxonomy of agents. We then looked at a variety of ways that intelligence could be given to agents, some of which are detailed in this book. Finally, we looked at an implementation of a very simple Web-filtering agent, discussing the variety of network interfaces that were utilized.
